Through proactive driver training an organisation reduces the harmful impact of its transportation operations on the environment. This in turn promotes the organisation's policies on the environment. In particular, the benefits are:

• Reduced emissions from vehicles
• Reduction of unnecessary use of energy through more effective use of controls
• Damage limitation to environments through better control of specialised vehicles
• Reduced demand for natural resources achieved through lower fuel consumption, and better wear and tear on tyres and component parts.

ATC is committed to continuous quality improvement in all areas of its business. We are conscious that our day-to-day operations may inevitably impact on the environment in a number of ways. It is therefore our responsibility to minimise the effects we have on the environment.

In our operations we will take the following action:

We will design energy efficiency into our services and premises, manage energy wisely in all our operations and be efficient in our use of natural resources.

We will reduce, wherever possible, the levels of harmful emissions from our premises and vehicles.

We will reduce waste and actively promote recycling and the use of recycled materials, both in the services we provide and in our internal operations.

We will be aware of the environmental impact we have on all our immediate neighbours.

We will ensure that environmental issues are always incorporated within all our training programmes, and we will encourage all who are connected with us, either internally or externally to adopt sound environmental practices.

We will monitor our progress to identify areas for improvement and to address potential areas of weakness.

Throughout our operations we will comply with all relevant legislation.
