Skid Avoidance & Control
Ratio: 1:1 or 2:1 |
 |
Duration: 1/2 day |
Location: At North Weald Aerodrome Essex and five locations throughout the UK depending upon the delegate's geographical location. Training may be given in either a Skid Car or a Skid Pan environment.
Vehicles: ATC vehicles
Training Objectives: Our skid driving course aims to develop an understanding of the various types of out of control situations drivers can experience, at varying speeds and on different co-efficient of grip, and to develop the skills to avoid them occurring and to address them if they do.
In analysing accidents, we have determined that it is a driver's first instinctive reaction that can make a car go out of control. Building on this, our skid training recreates emergency situations, and participants are coached in overcoming their instinctive reaction which, in some cases, can be the wrong one.
