Skid avoidance and control
Ratio: 2:1 |
 |
Duration: 1/2 day |
Location: At North Weald Aerodrome Essex and five locations throughout the UK. Depending on the delegate's geographical location, training may be given in either a Skid Car or in a Skid Pan environment.
Vehicles: ATC Vehicles
Training Objectives: To develop an understanding of the various types of out of control situations drivers can experience, at varying speeds and on different co-efficients of grip, and to develop the skid skills to avoid them occurring and to address them if they do.
In analysing accidents, we have determined that it is a driver's first instinctive reaction that can make a car go out of control. Building on this, our training recreates emergency situations, and participants are coached in overcoming their instinctive reactions, which in some cases can be the wrong one.
